About our Director
As a mother, grandmother, wife, and accomplished tourism entrepreneur, Annalize Grimbeek has dedicated her life to sharing the beauty and diversity of South Africa with the world. Her passion for tourism is more than a career—it’s her life’s motivation, driving her to create unforgettable experiences for every traveler she encounters.
With a deep love for South Africa’s open landscapes, endless blue skies, rich culture, delicious cuisine, and welcoming people, Annalize finds joy in seeing the awe on tourists’ faces when they witness a breathtaking view or take part in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. This commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences has shaped her career and the success of MAG Tours & Safaris, which she founded in 1996.
Her dedication and expertise have earned her multiple prestigious awards, including the Lilizela Award for Best Tour Operator in South Africa (2014 & 2015) and the Lilizela Award for Best Tourist Guide in North West Province (2010 – 2015). She was also a finalist in the National Lilizela Awards during these years, recognized for her outstanding contribution to the tourism industry.
Beyond leading MAG Tours, Annalize is a National Cultural Guide, fully qualified to train and mentor aspiring cultural tourist guides through CATHSETA’s Further Education and Training Certificate 71549 (NQF Level 4). She is also a CATHSETA-registered facilitator, assessor, and moderator, ensuring that South Africa’s next generation of guides are trained to the highest standards. Additionally, she is a qualified Hiking and Camping Guide and one of the few South African female skippers licensed for Open Water navigation.
